Introduction

I'm a scientist-turned-writer and aspiring developer. This portfolio highlights my web development work, originally created for a course through Thinkful. I am also interested in Data Science, particularly using Python.

Where I'm From

I am originally from California, although I lived in Michigan, Montana, and Pennsylvania before moving to Virginia. I also spent a fair amount of time doing research on the North Slope of Alaska.

What are your favorite hobbies?

At the moment, I am focusing on fiber arts. I am also an avid reader and greatly enjoy photography, hiking, painting, gaming, and yoga.

What's your dream job?

I enjoy creating, discovering, and problem solving. I would like to use my skills in scientific research, writing, and creative talents to help make information easier to access and understand.

What skills have you been learning recently?

I recently completed a four course series for University of Michigan's Python Specialization through Coursera, and I am working my way through John Hopkin's Data Science Specialization which uses R. I am comfortable with html and css, and continue to learn javascript, jquery, and ajax. I have also used several programming languages in my scientfic research on bacterial communities.
